Istanbul joins Beirut’s return to Türkiye

Zach Condon’s project Beirut is preparing for a three-city tour of Türkiye in June 2027. Announced by organiser Epifoni, the Istanbul date will take place at Bonus Parkorman on 18 June as part of Blind Fest. Ankara and İzmir are the other two cities on the mini-tour.

For anyone who knows Beirut only from a concert poster, the announcement is an opportunity to rediscover the project’s musical world. Condon brings indie folk and orchestral pop together with influences from Balkan and Western European music; brass instruments and accordion are distinctive elements of that sound. The latest album, A Study of Losses, is an 18-track work released in 2025 and created for a stage project.

For Istanbul, the news is the city’s place on an international artist’s new route through Türkiye. Bringing three concerts together on one tour also allows listeners in different cities to follow this return.

Wicked will meet audiences in Istanbul and Ankara in 2027

The international production of the Broadway musical Wicked is coming to Türkiye. Presented by Wovo Entertainment and Broadway Entertainment Group, its Istanbul performances are planned for 23 January–7 February 2027 at the AKM Opera Hall. The Ankara run will take place at ATO Congresium on 12–20 March.

The story follows the meeting of Elphaba and Glinda before Dorothy arrives in Oz. Known for songs including “Defying Gravity”, “Popular” and “For Good”, the musical has a stage world that extends beyond its film adaptations in popular culture. The Türkiye announcement is of particular interest to those who want to experience that world in person as an international stage production.

This addition to Istanbul’s winter season speaks to anyone who enjoys music alongside acting, storytelling and stage design. The announced performance periods bring a different kind of evening out onto the horizon, alongside the city’s concerts.

Hasan Gözetlik announces the date of his new solo song

Hasan Gözetlik, known for his work with Sakiler, has discussed the next step in his solo career. Speaking to Habertürk’s Eren Gürel, the musician said that “Sana Tutuluyorum”, credited to Alp Bahtiyar and İlkay Şencan, would be released on 30 October. His comments appeared in a report dated 23 October.

The change Gözetlik describes goes beyond one song. In his own words, he is working towards a musical direction closer to a new generation of arabesque; he also says he is preparing a solo performance schedule and further songs. Performing under his own name in the coming period is central to the relationship these preparations will establish with listeners.

How he builds his own musical identity after the Sakiler period is the part of this new chapter worth following. The song’s release will be one of the first tangible steps through which listeners can judge the change of direction he has described.

Daft Punk’s pyramid stage is entering the LEGO world

Daft Punk and LEGO announced an official partnership on 22 October. One of its first steps is to move a LEGO Ideas design inspired by the pyramid stage of the duo’s Alive 2007 tour into development. The announcement points to a broader partnership covering content and brand experiences as well as products.

The project began with a fan design created by Patrick Harboun and his son. A memory of the stage kept alive through listeners’ own creativity is thus becoming part of an official collaboration. Daft Punk’s visual world, built around their robot identities and stage design as well as their music, is what makes this a compelling popular-culture story.

This announcement does not mean a return to concerts or a new album. The confirmed developments are the LEGO partnership and the set’s development; neither the final product’s price nor its sale date appears in this announcement.

ADE and Insomniac join forces for a new industry gathering in Las Vegas

Amsterdam Dance Event and Insomniac have announced their collaboration on Map Point Summit. According to the official announcement dated 22 October, the three-day gathering will take place at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas in May 2027, between EDC’s two weekends. The project had already been named in EDC’s plans; this week’s development is the announcement of the ADE partnership and the gathering’s framework.

The summit aims to bring artists, independent promoters, creators and industry professionals together to share knowledge and make connections. Its name comes from meeting points in early underground rave culture: participants would first travel to a designated point and receive the party’s address there.

For anyone who sees nightlife as more than the names on stage, the story’s value lies in making the production and organisational networks behind the music visible. The project’s scope will become clearer when speakers, the detailed programme and participation arrangements are announced.
