EDITOR'S REVIEW
On the terrace of Swissôtel The Bosphorus, 16 Roof combines dinner overlooking the Bosphorus with cocktails and DJs. Lower levels favor dining and lounging, while the upper section has a livelier bar atmosphere.
Early lounge and chill out music gives way toward midnight to house, deep house, ethnic house, nu jazz and international dance hits. DJs play seven days a week; summer Sunset Sundays and occasional live violin or vocal sets may also feature.
Wooden decking, tiered seating and wide views of the Bosphorus define the terrace. The sunset starts quietly before the DJ brings a livelier pace.
On the hotel's 16th floor, Bosphorus view dining meets cocktails, hookah and live DJs on an outdoor terrace. Hotel restaurant service and an increasingly lively rooftop bar share the same space.
Couples and small groups planning a scenic dinner, celebration or cocktails followed by DJs.
Choose elegant smart casual clothes; a dress, blazer and city shoes fit the Swissôtel rooftop setting.
On 16 Roof's glass-railed terrace, the sea and city fit into the same view. Plates and drinks add colour to the blue-patterned tables, while plants surround the seating area. Evening lighting gives this outdoor space a softer mood. Spending time at a table facing the view is the terrace's real pleasure.
16 Roof is highly praised in most reviews for its expansive views of Istanbul and the Bosphorus, sunset ambiance, sushi and other dishes, creative cocktails, and friendly service. Guests choosing the venue for special celebrations, romantic evenings, or marriage proposals were pleased with the team; the staff's ability to accommodate allergies and dietary needs was also noted. On the downside, there were complaints about being seated at a shared table or one without a view after a short delay, items not consumed appearing on the bill, and a perception that some staff judged customers based on their appearance. Prices can be considered quite high. It is advisable to clarify outdoor conditions, table location, and pricing when making a reservation.
