EDITOR'S REVIEW

Get to know the venue before you go

BİNA brings a restaurant, cocktail bar, exhibition and event floors, and a hidden courtyard together in one historic building. Daytime meals and coffee give way to DJ sets, arts events and bars across the floors in the evening.

Music & programme

Indie, alternative rock, synth-pop, trip-hop and lively nu-jazz and funk sets by local DJs usually play on the ground floor and in the courtyard. The pace shifts toward dance and electronic music later. The middle floor hosts exhibitions, film screenings and talks in collaboration with Bant Mag. On weekend evenings, local DJs, intimate acoustic concerts and launch events take place on the ground floor and upper stage.

Atmosphere

The venue occupies a historic Kadıköy building with three floors and a large inner courtyard. A fountain known for its lion statue, small palm trees and warm, low lighting give the garden a secluded, bohemian feel.

Concept

BİNA is a layered Kadıköy social venue combining a restaurant, cocktail bar, exhibition and event floor, and hidden courtyard. Meals and coffee during the day give way to DJ sets, arts events and busy bars in the evening.

Guest profile

Kadıköy regulars who want to sit in the courtyard, people following the cocktails and DJ programme, and visitors attending exhibitions, screenings or talks.

Dress code

Casual Kadıköy style: relaxed, everyday and bohemian streetwear. Loose shirts, T-shirts, denim jackets and trainers are common; elaborate evening dress is unusual.

Inside the Venue

At Bina Kadıköy, green and turquoise projections spread moving patterns across the plain walls. Electronic devices, cables and control equipment on the small tables are part of the performance. The area with the microphone and keyboard is lit in purple. The listeners' silhouettes are just in front; the space where music is created and the place where it is shared are very close together.

Customer Review Summary

Bina Kadıköy transforms from a daytime café and workspace into a lively venue for dancing to DJ sets in the evening. It is appreciated for its garden, bohemian atmosphere, creative cocktails, and bowl options. However, on weekends, the venue can become extremely crowded, hot, noisy, and smoky, making conversation difficult. Prices are above the Kadıköy average, and service can slow down during busy periods. Numerous reviews mention that door staff and some employees behave rudely, selectively, or indifferently. There are also several serious allegations regarding differential pricing for foreign guests. Weekdays or evenings without DJ performances seem more suitable for a quieter experience.

HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights

A hidden courtyard, floors serving different purposes, a cocktail bar, and music alongside arts and culture events in the same building.

NOTE

Before your visit

BİNA's restaurant, bar, exhibition area and hidden courtyard span four levels, so one floor cannot show you everything. As movement between floors is by stairs, visitors with limited mobility should check access to their chosen area and the location of the toilets in advance.

GETTING THERE
