EDITOR'S REVIEW
Eski Kaset Kadıköy is a friendly, energetic nightclub devoted entirely to nostalgia and retro dancing, offering a different experience from the busy mainstream club scene on Istanbul's European side.
Every day, Eski Kaset Kadıköy plays Turkish pop from the 1980s and 1990s, nostalgic 2000s hits, memorable 45 rpm singles, and DJ remixes of retro dance tracks. Periodic events, especially on weekends, include DJ Çetinkol's 90s & 00s Pop Night and Flashback parties.
Large disco balls across the ceiling, colorful nostalgic neon, dim club interiors decorated with period imagery, and a welcoming party floor where everyone sings along.
A retro-themed club that feels like a trip back in time, mixing the cassette era's spirit with modern cocktails and seemingly endless retro DJ performances.
Adults eager to dance to Turkish pop from the 1990s and 2000s, couples who enjoy nostalgia nights, and groups of friends.
Casual clothes or relaxed evening attire are preferred.
At Eski Kaset Kadıköy, gleaming columns and reflections overhead multiply the coloured lighting. Diamond-shaped wall patterns are a small but distinctive detail. At the round tables opposite the DJ booth with its screen, seating and dancing are interwoven. Among red, yellow and blue tones, friends enjoy themselves around their own tables.
Eski Kaset Kadıköy receives positive feedback from many visitors for its music—featuring a heavy dose of 80s and 90s hits—as well as its intimate atmosphere, live events, and attentive staff. Guests appreciate the venue for birthday parties and group gatherings, often noting that prices are reasonable. Negative experiences tend to center on entry and organizational issues; criticisms include being denied entry despite having a reservation (due to technical malfunctions), a lack of advance notice regarding changes, mandatory coat check policies, restrictions on moving between sections, and inconsistent treatment of guests. Issues such as indoor smoking, inadequate ventilation, high bottle prices, and the premature clearing of drinks from tables have also been noted. It may be helpful to obtain written confirmation of reservation terms.
