EDITOR'S REVIEW
In a historic building by the Bosphorus, Joanna İstanbul spreads a restaurant, workspace, nightclub, and rooftop terrace across four floors. Moving between them lets guests turn dinner into a night of dancing.
Gentle lounge and jazz sounds shape Joanna İstanbul's ground floor, while the nightclub floor plays Afrobeat, melodic techno, deep house, and carefully selected electronic dance music. From Tuesday through Sunday, the program includes electronic parties, weekend DJ performances, and Full Moon nights with guests such as Lica.
Wood surfaces, library details, and low lighting preserve a home-like feeling across the floors. The rooftop opens onto views of the Bosphorus and its bridge.
A hybrid 'living house' spread over four floors: The Kitchen serves shared plates as a fine-dining restaurant on the ground floor; The Study is a quiet workspace above; The Living Room houses the nightclub and dance floor; and The Rooftop has a character of its own.
Groups seeking to combine dinner with Bosphorus views, cocktails, and electronic music in the same evening.
Relaxed yet polished club clothes suit Joanna İstanbul.
In Joanna İstanbul's chandelier-lit dining room, candles and flowers lend elegance to the long tables. Step outside and the evening changes pace: against the night view, people gathered around the DJ dance and clap together. The intimacy of dining indoors complements the activity outside. You can spend the evening in two different ways within the same venue.
Joanna Istanbul receives praise in many reviews for its food, signature cocktails, private rooms, upstairs music area, and rooftop atmosphere. Visitors appreciate the attentive service provided during birthday celebrations and large group events. On the other hand, frequent criticisms target the extreme weekend crowds, slow or rude service, out-of-stock items, poor ventilation, and high prices. Some guests also report that fees for cake cutting, service, and minimum bottle spending were not disclosed at the time of booking. The dining and service experience can vary from night to night; it is advisable to get written confirmation regarding table types, minimum spend requirements, and fees for cake and service.
