EDITOR'S REVIEW
Marlen Bar is a small pub hidden on the fifth floor of a Taksim side street, known for regulars and a terrace with character. Draft beer, bartender-made cocktails, relaxed tables and weekend DJs create an informal, sociable Beyoğlu night.
Familiar rock, indie and pop play at conversation level on weekdays. Friday and Saturday DJ sets bring electronic, disco and danceable hits, raising the energy towards dancing. Other nights use bar playlists; special themed parties may be announced separately.
A covered terrace with red walls, plain wooden tables and chairs and repeated “We Want Beer” posters has a relaxed, slightly nostalgic look. The interior is darker with closer seating; the terrace feels airy above the Taksim crowds.
A tucked-away Beyoğlu address with an upstairs enclosed bar, nostalgic terrace and friendly neighbourhood-pub service. Weekdays focus on conversation; weekends shift towards DJs and dancing.
Beyoğlu regulars, young professionals stopping after work, solo guests comfortable at a bar, couples after an easygoing cocktail night and groups dancing at the weekend.
Comfortable everyday clothes are enough.
Marlen Bar in Beyoğlu garners highly positive feedback from both regulars and first-time visitors thanks to its intimate, relaxed, and characterful atmosphere. It is a popular choice for conversations and after-work gatherings on weekdays, and for dancing to DJ sets on weekends. Cocktails, draft beer, hamburgers, and other food items are generally well-liked, and prices are considered reasonable for the Taksim area. The friendly, attentive, and reassuring attitude of the staff is the venue's most frequently praised quality. Bar chess adds a unique option for socializing. Some visitors find the interior a bit dark, and the music gets louder at tables near the speakers. There appear to be no significant or recurring service issues.
