EDITOR'S REVIEW
Muaf Kadıköy combines a pub for conversation with an intimate stage for independent shows at one address. It appeals to those seeking Kadıköy's alternative culture and close-up performances over showy club nightlife; the small room can become crowded on event nights.
WHO IT SUITS
It suits those wanting to meet friends at a relaxed Kadıköy pub, hear new musicians or see stand-up up close. It especially appeals to guests seeking an intimate, independent stage rather than a showy club night; check show times if quiet conversation is the aim.
HIGHLIGHTS
Its central Kadıköy location, pub and performance stage at one address, and small-scale shows bringing audiences close to artists are strengths. Stand-up and open-mic nights give reasons to visit beyond music.
NOTE
Distinguish the pub from the stage programme: a concert or comedy show may not happen on every visit, and ticket and entry rules vary. The performance room can feel hot and crowded on busy nights; check the door-opening time for a good viewing place.
GETTING THERE
Muaf Kadıköy - Performance is at Kırtasiyeci Sokak No:15A, Osmanağa Mahallesi. Walk into the market from Kadıköy metro or ferry piers; Söğütlüçeşme Marmaray and metrobus stops are also a walk or short connection away. Given the narrow market streets, nearby car parks are more practical for drivers.
