EDITOR'S REVIEW

Get to know the venue before you go

Oldies Taksim turns nostalgia into a working music bar with regular concerts, karaoke and DJs. Its small room, retro nights and stage for younger bands put performers much closer to the audience than a large venue.

Music & programme

Pop-rock from the 1980s and 1990s defines the venue; alternative rock, blues-rock, Anatolian rock and cover bands also play live. Late DJ or karaoke programmes take nostalgia towards dancing. The calendar includes rock concerts, student bands, retro DJs and occasional karaoke; early and late performances may both take place on the same night.

Atmosphere

The compact room on Süslü Saksı Street has a narrow layout that brings the stage close to the audience and a dark-toned bar. Concert lighting, standing space and a crowd gathering at the stage give it an intense small-club feel.

Concept

An independent event bar updating the spirit of the 1980s and 1990s with live bands, rock concerts, DJ sets and karaoke. Different music groups appear according to the night's programme.

Guest profile

Retro-music fans, young rock listeners, university groups, followers of independent bands, karaoke fans and people seeking a close-up gig in a small venue.

Dress code

Comfortable concert-bar clothes work: T-shirt, jeans, leather jacket, dress and trainers. Practical shoes matter for standing events.

Customer Review Summary

Oldies Taksim is generally well-regarded for its live music programs—featuring Anatolian rock, jazz, and rock—as well as its warm atmosphere and late-night entertainment. The cocktails (especially those made with unique recipes) and the staff's friendly, efficient service are frequently praised. The venue is small and can become hot or cramped when crowded; the quality of the stage setup and the musical style can vary from night to night. Opinions on pricing are mixed, with some visitors finding it reasonable and others considering it high. There are serious complaints regarding discrepancies in group charges, complimentary items appearing on the bill, and bottle prices turning out much higher than expected. It is advisable to clarify entry conditions and bill items in advance.
