EDITOR'S REVIEW
The Allis is an all day meeting spot in Soho House Istanbul's Glass Building, open to visitors without membership from breakfast to evening cocktails. Its garden facing Palazzo Corpi and bright glass architecture suit both meetings and social plans in Pera.
Lounge, R&B, light world music and nu jazz stay in the background during afternoon and dinner service. The pace rises gently on weekend evenings with polished bar playlists. There is no fixed concert or DJ schedule.
The glass fronted building has abundant daylight, a planted outdoor seating area and a view of 19th century Palazzo Corpi. Modern architecture meets the feel of a historic courtyard. It is airy by day and warmly lit in the evening.
A public lounge bar and restaurant serving light breakfasts, Middle Eastern inspired small plates, coffee, fresh juices and craft cocktails throughout the day.
Daytime coffee or meeting guests, couples meeting for evening cocktails, small groups of friends, people from design and cultural circles and international visitors who are not staying at the hotel.
Creative but effortless smart casual dress fits the garden. Well cut casual pieces, a simple dress and clean shoes work; beachwear is out of place in the Soho House setting.
The Allis is favored—particularly for quiet get-togethers—thanks to its lush garden within Soho House Istanbul, its dimly lit interior, and an atmosphere that feels removed from the city's hustle and bustle. The food and desserts are generally delicious, though prices can be high and the menu variety somewhat limited. The aspect that most significantly impacts the experience is the photography policy; many visitors report being reprimanded harshly or inconsistently while taking photos and encountering tense behavior from staff. There is also a recurring impression of preferential treatment regarding the queue for the garden area and table allocation. While some guests encounter attentive staff, service speed and general communication lack consistency. The atmosphere is strong, but the rules need to be communicated clearly and politely.
