EDITOR'S REVIEW

Get to know the venue before you go

Ulus 29 is a long-established restaurant high in Ulus Park, overlooking the Bosphorus and Istanbul's skyline. Its modern Turkish and Mediterranean cuisine comes with a substantial wine selection. The wide terrace and glass-fronted dining room place the panorama at the center of dinner; later, the bar and music give the evening a more social character.

Music & programme

Dinner music ranges from lounge and jazz to ethnic house and contemporary world sounds. After midnight, familiar dance hits, house remixes and DJ sets take over. Instrumental and vocal performances feature on weekdays; after midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, resident and guest DJs lead club parties and special shows.

Atmosphere

A broad stone terrace borders park greenery, with white-clothed tables and an uninterrupted railing facing the Bosphorus. Floor-to-ceiling windows preserve the view from inside. By day, minarets, both shores and the urban landscape are visible; at night, bridge lights, candles and darker bar lighting shape the atmosphere.

Concept

A fine-dining restaurant and late-night club combining traditional Turkish cooking methods with contemporary international gastronomy in an elevated Ulus Park setting.

Guest profile

Couples, business diners and special-occasion groups who want to follow a scenic dinner with music and dancing later.

Dress code

Elegance without excess fits its fine-dining character. A jacket, tailored trousers or simple dress would be suitable.

Inside the Venue

At Ulus 29's white-clothed tables, the view is part of the dining experience. Water and city stretch beyond the plates and glasses. By day, the terrace's openness stands out; in the evening, the bridge's red illumination draws the eye. The carefully arranged tables suit this broad panorama at both times of day.

Customer Review Summary

Ulus 29 is frequently praised in reviews for its Bosphorus view, chic and airy atmosphere, selection of meats and mezes, cocktails, and attentive service. Guests visiting for special occasions or in large groups have commended the food presentation and the staff's attentiveness. Conversely, some visitors report issues such as mixed-up reservation details, a lack of prior notification regarding terrace changes, and poorly managed birthday arrangements. There are also complaints that the food fails to justify the high prices or meet Michelin-level expectations, and that the cover charge and service fees are excessive. It may be beneficial to obtain written confirmation regarding the terrace arrangements, details for special occasions, and all associated costs.

HIGHLIGHTS

Highlights

Bosphorus views, the transition from restaurant service to club format and a brand known for many years.

NOTE

Before your visit

The entrance is up the vehicle road inside Ulus Park, not a separate street-level doorway. The open terrace has a direct Bosphorus and skyline view; the glass dining room also has views. Request the terrace or a view-facing table if you want the open-air experience.

GETTING THERE

Getting to the venue

Turn from Ahmet Adnan Saygun Caddesi into the Ulus Park vehicle entrance. No. 71/1 inside the park is not visible from street level. There is no short direct walk from a rail station; a taxi from Etiler or Gayrettepe into the park is simplest. Parking and valet service are available.
