EDITOR'S REVIEW

Get to know the venue before you go

Ruby is a polished Ortaköy address where a garden over the water and a balcony facing the Bosphorus connect dinner to a two-floor club. Each area has its own physical character: the restaurant is distinct from the dance spaces. It makes a cohesive evening for guests who want views, cocktails and nightlife in one plan.

Music & programme

Dinner begins with a quieter mix of lounge, jazz and ethnic music. Toward midnight, Turkish and international pop, commercial house, R&B hits and energetic DJ sets raise the tempo. Special nights may add live vocals, dancers, stage shows or themed performances. Check that night's announcement before visiting.

Atmosphere

An open garden extends over the water, while the upstairs balcony looks out to the Bosphorus and bridge. White dining tables and two darker club floors create clearly different zones. Views and warm lighting dominate the dining areas; low ceilings, lighting effects and closely spaced tables make the club floors more intense.

Concept

A multifunctional fine dining and waterfront club combining award-winning Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine listed in the MICHELIN Guide with carefully made cocktails and a Bosphorus-facing nightclub.

Guest profile

Couples and celebration groups who want Bosphorus-view dining, cocktails and a late-night club within the same evening.

Dress code

Polished smart casual or evening wear fits best: a dress, blazer, shirt, dark trousers and elegant shoes suit the setting.

Inside the Venue

Ruby's glass-railed terraces open onto the water across several levels. Beyond the tables are the bridge and the lights of the opposite shore; outside, the view takes precedence over the decor. Indoors, red and gold embellishments are more elaborate. A saxophone performance adds music to this waterside gathering.

Customer Review Summary

Ruby receives numerous positive reviews for its Bosphorus view, stylish décor, restaurant cuisine, cocktails, and an entertainment atmosphere that intensifies as the night progresses. Regulars appreciate the attentive service and the transparency regarding the menu and pricing. Conversely, there are criticisms regarding the refusal of entry to individuals or all-male groups, failure to provide a table despite having a reservation, and the attitude of some staff members. Opinions are also divided regarding the music, food quality, and clientele. Some find the process of moving tables during the transition from restaurant to club to be disorganized. It may be wise to clearly confirm table location and entry requirements when making a reservation.

GETTING THERE

Getting to the venue

Ruby sits on the Ortaköy waterfront in Beşiktaş. From Beşiktaş Square, take a bus toward Ortaköy, get off at the Ortaköy stop and walk. A boat can be an alternative when waterfront traffic is heavy; Ruby has its own pier for private boats. Valet and parking facilities are available for drivers.
