EDITOR'S REVIEW
The Bank Roof Bar occupies the roof of a historic bank building in Karaköy, framing Istanbul's old and new skylines together. Signature cocktails and small plates make it a city bar especially focused on the view at sunset.
Light lounge and downtempo selections accompany sunset; the rhythm picks up later while leaving space for the view and conversation. There is no regularly announced concert programme. Daily playlists, occasional background DJ sets and private events shape the music.
Low lounge seating and a simple bar on the open terrace frame broad views across the Golden Horn, Bosphorus, Galata, Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace and the Blue Mosque. Sunset turns the terrace golden; after dark, table lights give it a more private feel.
A hotel rooftop bar serving classic and signature cocktails, a wide whiskey and wine selection and finger food on a panoramic open-air terrace.
Hotel guests, couples seeking sunset drinks in Karaköy, local and international visitors showing off the city and small groups celebrating a special meeting.
Smart casual suits the hotel terrace: stylish but comfortable evening clothes fit the setting.
At The Bank Roof Bar, guests pick up their drinks and gather around the bar. Some dance to the DJ's music; others turn towards Galata Tower and the evening skyline. Activity around the drinks being prepared spreads to every corner of the warmly lit rooftop. This is a bar where you can easily switch between watching Istanbul and joining your friends.
The Bank Roof Bar offers a terrace experience popular with international guests, featuring a view stretching from the Bosphorus to Eminönü, a stylish atmosphere, and signature cocktails. The shrimp tacos, certain cocktails, and the service provided during festival days are well-regarded, and there are comments praising the staff's warm attitude. However, prices and service charges are considered high, and some feel the quality of the cocktails does not justify the cost. Some guests have alleged rude behavior by bartenders, inadequate table service, and a refusal to seat guests at prime tables even when those tables were not actually reserved. The unplanned closure of the area due to rain has also caused inconvenience. It may be beneficial to confirm weather conditions and table arrangements in advance.
