EDITOR'S REVIEW
On the upper floors of The Marmara Pera, Mikla is a fine-dining restaurant where New Anatolian cuisine, seasonal local produce and contemporary presentation meet panoramic Istanbul views.
Ambient, ethnic and refined lounge music accompanies dinner; deep house and electronic rhythms can sound later at the terrace bar. Music follows sunset dining rather than a live show or club program, and DJs do not overpower the meal.
The upper two floors of The Marmara Pera combine minimalist Scandinavian design and warm Mediterranean touches with a 360-degree rooftop panorama of the historic peninsula, Galata Tower and the Bosphorus.
A pioneering New Anatolian fine-dining restaurant and bar reimagining traditional Turkish dishes through carefully sourced local and seasonal ingredients.
Food enthusiasts, couples and celebration groups seeking contemporary Anatolian cuisine with panoramic views.
Refined smart casual attire is expected in Mikla's contemporary fine-dining setting.
At Mikla, the open kitchen lets you see how the dishes arriving at your table are prepared. Work at the grill and the final touches to plated food bring activity to the dining area too. White-clothed tables face the sea and city beyond the windows. The evening view and the kitchen's liveliness create two distinct points of interest in the same room.
Mikla is regarded as a special gastronomic experience, distinguished by its panoramic view of Istanbul, professional yet warm service, meticulous presentation, and extensive wine selection. The majority of diners find the dishes in the tasting and three-course menus to be creative, satisfying, and well-executed; the cocktail and drink pairings also receive praise. However, some feel that not every dish lives up to the high expectations set by the Michelin star and premium pricing, noting that certain dishes fail to leave a lasting impression. Criticisms have been raised regarding the mandatory per-person menu requirement, allegations that foreigners are prioritized for terrace tables, the minimalist interior décor, and restrooms considered merely average. Early booking is recommended to secure a table with a view.
